U14 Hurling
Bandon 1-14
Kilbrittain 0-04
On Sunday evening last, car horns rang out on the approach roads to Bandon to welcome home and acknowledge the victorious under 14 hurlers after their 1-14 to 0-4 defeat of Kilbrittain in the Rebel Og West Final at a well turned out Ballinascarthy.

A goal and a point by Daithi Collis inside 3 minutes had this fine team on their way.

Full-back and team captain Timmy Twohig repelled the inevitable Kilbrittain response and he was well assisted by the whole half back line of Cian Burke, Sean Sexton and Cian Burke.

The impressive Charlie Long, Cathal Lynch, Jake Lillis and Richard Murphy added further points to leave it at 1-6 to 0-3 at the small whistle.

Cian Burke broke the deadlock with an excellent point 7 minutes after the re-start and Bandon never looked back from there and had the added satisfaction of restricting Kilbrittain to a single point in the second period.

There is a bright future for this team and well done also to their mentors of Ian Doyle, John Collis and Finbarr Lynch.
