U14 Hurling
Bandon 3-12
Youghal 1-04
Bandon GAA club wishes to acknowledge the achievements of their new heroes in the shape of the Under 14 hurlers after their comphrensive 3-12 to 1-4 victory over a gallant Youghal side in the County Hurling Championship Final at Mayfield last Friday evening.

The concession of an early goal may have knocked us off balance inside 5 minutes but points by the industrious Charlie Long, Jake Lillis and Fionn Harrington and a goal by Daithi Collis had us ahead 1-3 to 1-0 by the 10th minute.

Youghal were having difficulties curtailing our whole half-back line and mid-fielder and the lead was 2-6 to 1-3 at the small whistle.

After the re-start a pro-longed 10 minute period of domination by Youghal yielded not a single score and the whole back-line were defiant during that period.

A notable feature of this great success were the two massive long range points by captain and man of the match Timmy Twohig mid way through the second half.

The celebrations went long into Friday evening and a large crowd welcomed the victorious team home.
