Bandon GAA Notes 05-11-2016

Father time finally caught up with the Bandon Senior hurlers in 2016 last Sunday at Cloughduv in the Munster Intermediate Hurling Quarter Final where the lads came up against a very good Lismore team from Co Waterford on a score of 2-20 to 1-12.

This game proved a step too far for our double county champion heroes and we were beaten fair and square by a much better team who were back-boned by the Shanahan and Prendergast brothers.

The concession of two early goals always had us on the back-foot and no matter how hard or what formation we tried we could not get a rein on the Waterford Champions.

The excesses and demands of having to play two county finals and two county semi-finals in 4 consecutive weekends finally caught up with our boys but look we salute our players and mentors in both Hurling and Football for all your heroics over the 2016 season which started on Sunday 17th of January against Aghabullogue in the Tom Creedon Cup.

Alas, there are still 2 remaining adult fixtures to fulfil and the first of these comes this Saturday afternoon at 3pm at Ballinhassig against Na Piarsaigh in the Division 4 Football League Final and your support will as always be very welcomed.
