Southern Star 28th January - 2017-01-24

There was much delight amongst the large Bandon attendance at the Celtic Ross Hotel last Saturday evening upon

being awarded the Club of the Year at the annual West Cork Sports Awards in association with the Celtic Ross,

the Southern Star and C103 Radio Station.

Chairman Colman O’Mahony delighted the large  attendance with his acceptance speech and he also paid tribute to

the players who had this award possible.

It is good to see that those same players have now returned to serious training on two nights a week.

The club is also delighted for Margaret Fehily who was a Bandon GAA Club winner of the December 2016 Cork County

Clubs Draw.

The club was also delighted for Maura O’Brien of Drimoleague who was a deserving winner of the Bingo Jackpot of

€1,360 on Thursday night. Maura is a long-standing supporter of the weekly Bingo and is involved in the organizing

of a bus to Bingo from that lovely village. The Bingo Jackpot returns to €400 on this Thursday in 47 calls or less

in the 9th game of the evening.

The club is now distributing tickets (€10 each) to members for the annual Croke Park Draw.

This is a very important club fund-raiser because 100% of the money raised from tickets sold is retained by the club.

Lastly, best wishes to the Underage Club  that are holding their annual Registration night on this Wednesday evening

from 7 to 9 pm and on Friday when they host their second Award Presentation night for the Under 11s to Under 16 age

groups at 7:30 p.m.
