Southern Star 25th February - 2017-02-21

Bandon's Footballers made it two wins from two in the Division 4 Football League last Sunday afternoon upon defeating

Castletownbere 1-15 to 0-12 in the top pitch.

The sides were evenly matched throughout the first half and it was no surprise that they were level at 07-07 at the small whistle.

Bandon were more prominent in the early stages of the second half where Adam Murphy scored 3 excellent points, full-back Peter

Murphy scored the point of the game and Darren Crowley converted a penalty after Matthew McNamara had been upended in the square.

To be fair Castletownbere were well in this game and bar some wayward shooting they would have been much closer to Bandon.

Custodian Pat Prendargast made many fine saves throughout the hour and the tendency to switch off in games needs to be eradicated.

Up next we are away to Ballydesmond next weekend at tbc.

Team: Pat Prendargast, Brian Crowley, Peter Murphy 0-1, Joe O'Mahony, David Crowley, Donough Lucey, Cian O'Mahony 0-1,
