Minor Hurling - Bandon v Dohneys - 2017-08-17

Bandon                  4-16

Dohenys                1-19

Given their past records at under-age, Dohenys would have been firm favourites to win this Minor A Hurling Championship encounter in Enniskeane .

However the tide seems to be turning for this Bandon team and their very hard-working mentors .

This was a very good game of hurling with some fine individual Dohenys performances and to be fair 1-19 would win most matches .

On the night, Dohenys were unable to deal with the twin threats of centre - forward Aidan O’ Mahony and full-forward Olan MacSweeney who between them scored 3.11 .

There were also other fine individual performances in every line from Cian Farrell in goal, Ben Donegan, Tony Quinn, Ciaran McCarthy, Paul Lang, Conor Calnan and an ever improving Brian O’ Mahony.

Jeremy Collins, Michael Laffan, Niall Daly, Nelson McCarthy and Harry Lillis all worked very hard throughout .

Great to see Cathal Lynch and Charlie Long of the all conquering U15 team making such fine contributions on the night despite their young ages .
