Bandon GAA Notes 28-07-2018 - 2018-07-24

Non Exam Hurling League Final

Bandon collected their first silver ware of 2018 on last Friday evening when we were far too good for Cobh in the final of the Non Exam Hurling League 3-15 to 0-9.Early goals by Brian O'Mahony and Olann McSweeney had us comfortable inside 10 minutes and the lads were very accurate from play and placed balls to leave it 2-9 to 0-5 at the break. Upon the re-start Cian Farrell made himself big to thwart a gilt edged goal chance for Cobh and Cobh would go on to miss two other easy goal chances before the end of the game. However, there was only ever going to be one winner in this game and indeed the substitutes introduced in the second half did not weaken our performance in any way.

Team, Cian Farrell, Harry Lillis. Ben Donegan, Niall Daly, Cathal Lynch, Conor Twomey, Dylan O'Donovan (0-2, 1 ×65), Paul Hartnett, Gavin O'Connell 0-1, Jack Calnan, Tony Quinn 0-4fs, Olann McSweeney 2-4, Brian O'Mahony 1-2. Subs; Daithi Collis,  Charlie Long 0-1. Gavin OBrien, Rory Desmond, Fionn Twomey 0-1.

Senior Hurling League

Our Senior Hurlers were narrowly defeated by an overly physical Erin's Own side in the League last Saturday evening 2-12 to 1-18 conceding the goal during the two minutes of injury time. Goals by Adam Murphy and Eoghan O'Donovan had us in front 2-12 to 0-16 entering that added on time period and it was very disappointing to concede the late goal but we were down a man at stage after Ronan Crowley and Eoghan O'Donovan had both been dismissed in the second half.

Team Pat Prendargast, Joe Harrington, James O'Donovan, Philip Crowley, Donough Lucey, Jason Hickey, Andrew O'Connell, Eoghan O'Donovan, Darren Crowley, James McSweeney, Pa Barry, Ronan Crowley, Cian O'Mahony, Adam Murphy and Mark Sugrue.

U21 Hurling

U21 Hurlers lost their Championship game 2-15 to 0-9 to Dohenys.
