Hurling - U16 Championship
Bandon 3-09
St Patricks 1-06

Three early points from Mark ORegan, two from difficult frees, eased Bandon into their eagerly awaited Under 16 A Championship 1st Round game versus St Patricks in Ardfield last Wednesday evening 3-9 to 1-6.

Mark pointed another free before the break. Sean OSullivan and Brain OConnell added the all important goals either side of half time to put us in control but the hero of the hour was goalkeeper Eddie Hetherington who brought off a string of great saves in both halves but especially in the last quarter when Bandon were under the most pressure.

There was un-bridled joy amongst players, mentors and supporters at the final whistle and all concerned now can look forward to a quarter-final showdown against the winners of Sam Maguires and Western Gaels at a time and venue tbc.

Hurling - Intermediate
Bandon 1-14
Ballincollig 1-10

Jason McCarthy, just back from injury was the provider for Philip Murphys goal mid-way through the opening half of the Intermediate Hurlers league away victory over Ballincollig last Friday evening 1-10 to 1-14.

The score settled Bandon as up to that point we had given away far too many soft frees.

Darren Crowley was on song from placed balls and we trailed 1-5 to 0-10 at the interval.

A purple patch after the re-start saw us take control of the game pointed scores from Jason Hickey and three more from Darren (2 from frees).

James McSweeney was vigilant in the goals but best on the night by far was James Walsh.
