Whilst a ball may not have been kicked or a sliothar hurled in anger thus far in 2014, the shape of things to come this year became much clearer after the Carbery Bord championship draws were made last evening in Dunmanway. 

The Under 21 A footballers face a difficult assignment against Castlehaven in Round 1 of the Clona Milk sponsored competition. 

The Junior A Footballers play Clann na nGael in a repeat of the opening round of the 2013 championship. 

Whilst the Junior A hurlers face a very difficult pre-leminary round of their championship against Ballinascarthy with the winners facing what some might say are one of the pre-tournament favourites in St Oliver Plunketts.

Congratulations to Mark Sugrue on being added to the extended panel of the Cork Senior Footballers for the forthcoming Allianz National Football league which opens with a home game versus Westmeath in Pairc UI Rinn next Sunday afternoon. 

Micheal Cahalane was a substitute on the Cork Senior Hurling team that defeated UCC in a Senior Hurling match last Saturday morning in the Mardyke and the club wishes Michael, Andrew OConnell and Jonathon Mulcahy and all at Hamilton High School @hhsbandon the very best next Saturday 01/02/2014 at 03.30p.m. in Mallow where they play Ard Scoil Ris, Limerick in the Dr. Harty Cup semi-final.
