Jimmy Barry Murphy to present underage medals!
The GAA Pavilion will be the in-place at 7.00 p.m. on this coming Friday evening when Cork Hurling Manager Jimmy Barry Murphy will be a very special guest of honour for the 2013 underage medals presentation ceremony. 

2013 was a memorable year for Bandon Underage with the Under 13 A Football County Final victory being the highlight. 

This and other sporting achievements from the past year will be celebrated and acknowledged by Corks most imminent sporting hero. 

Club Sportswear will be on sale and Membership Application forms will be available in the Pavilion. 

Please return any completed Prediction League forms.

Heartaid Cardiac Screening
Heartaid provide an on-site Doctor-led Cardiac Screening service to clubs, schools & companies nationwide. 

Our service is ultimately aimed at reducing the incidents of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) in Ireland and promoting a healthy lifestyle. 

We provide our service on-site at a time and place that is convenient. 


Heartaid screen all senior inter-county GAA teams across Ireland. 

We screen for the FAI, Connacht and Leinster Rugby, as well as a numerous companies and local sports clubs up and down the country. 

Heartaid also provide cardiac screening all LAYA Healthcare members nationwide. Our Medical Director is Dr Alan Byrne who was previously Medical Director of the FAI. 


In accordance with international best practice each Cardiac Screening includes:
  • A Personal & Family History Questionnaire
  • A Medical Examination with a Doctor
  • Blood Pressure measurement
  • Obesity Screening
  • 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Consultant Cardiologist review and report
Heartaids service is based on the recommendations of the GAAs Medical Scientific and Advisory Committeehttp://www.gaa.ie/medical-and-player-welfare/cardiac-screening and The European Society of Cardiology. 

In Italy screening is compulsory for anyone competing in sport. 

They have reduced SADS by 89% over the past 15 years and this is the model we are following. 


We would welcome the opportunity to run a screening programme for your players and members. 

Each screening takes 25 minutes and we can screen 45 per day. 

We screen individuals from age 12+. I can send on sample posters and brochures that can help drive awareness etc. 


The fee for the Cardiac Screening service:
  • 70 people @ 65
  • 45+ people @ 70
  • 30+ people @ 75
  • FREE*
*People with Laya health insurance are able to avail of screening for FREE. 

People with other health insurance may be able to claim a % back at the end of the year. We only screen players aged 12+ years.
